VENA CAVA spring 2011 took off at NYFW and the looks are AMAZING. please sign me up, i'd like everything in the mail. now! designers Lis Mayock and Sophie Buhai created this look to mix the "1980's Memphis design movement with a Southern California ease" and it blossomed perfectly.  adorned with headbands, rope necklaces and strikingly tall platform sandals their vision was brought to life with bold colors and flowing fabrics! I LOVE!

BCBG MaxAzria - soft colors with delicate details! my brain is tingling!! this runway show actually took place yesterday at NYFW so here are some of my FAVORITE looks too!

BCBG MAXAZRIA wow-ed me! i love the NEUTRAL make up and low pony no-fuss hair! alsoooo i did notice the white/tan strappy sandals going on!!! LOVE.

while i am thrilled to put away my itty bitty shorts and tanks and move into big furry sweaters and tights, my sights are set on the themes of SPRING 2011 (i know TOTAL curveball here) but i must say that i am a fan of the upcoming patterns. these prints are from an annual textile convention held in january that foreshadows trends to come! enjoy!!

you would think after living in santa barbara for 4+ years i would know to bring a jacket -- always.  even on the warmest days the wind gods have the tendency to blow ferociously.  anyway, there is an urban outfitters unfortunately located downtown in between our local haunts -- and if the door is open, i am known to spontaneously invest in a new jacket that almost never matches my outfit at the time.  on sunday i had the same urban run-in, as it was the last sunday of tonic's sunday sessions and OF COURSE brad has to stand 1.5 feet away from the DJ -- outside in the chilly wind.  i was absolutely estatic to find this perfectly worn military-esque slouchy ECOTE coat.  i have been looking for something exactly like this ALL SUMMER and i was about ready to turn to thrifting (santa barbara thrifting just doesn't normally cut it) when i spotted this little baby!  it was kismet!

duke was FREAKING out as i was trying to take these pictures - he's pretty smart and knows that when you put on a jacket it normally means your leaving - so basically he wouldn't leave me alone, we've been doing errands together all day :) i let him get in a few pics (and note his presence in the first two pics) haha.

fashion's night out 2010 is coming into los angeles with a bang!  this fashion block party will be taking place throughout LA neighborhoods with headquarters at the Beverley Center.  mayor Antonio Villaraigrosa will be announcing the festivities at 5 pm on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10TH.  this event marks a huge step in bringing fashion to the forefront of california's (and the nation's) attempt to lessen the recession.  if you're around, this event is not one to miss!! also, don't wait to grab your FNO tee - designed by FIDM designer and reasonably priced at $15-$25.
