sequin.maxi.
"we always bring a touch of glamor to day wear" said J. Crew creative director Jenna Lyons at the preview of the spring 2010 collection in NY. this creative preview showed a sequin maxi skirt, high waisted shorts and a general trend toward comfortable glamor {read: neon pink shorts, orange minis and wide-leg pants}. the looks are inspired by the art work of Hans Hoffman. VP Marissa Webb spoke about the richness and texture of the new collection that exudes the color and spontaneity of Hoffman's art. my favorite part...the models sported TANGERINE lipstick [my newest favorite MAC acquisition]. i love to see retailers like J. Crew bringing nice quality, fabulous clothes to the masses for an affordable price and i am very much looking forward to getting some of these pieces in my hands [though the maxi might me a little bit of a stretch...]!!!

tingle
the air smelled like winter today. it was fabulous {although i left the house one layer short and was quite chilly for most of the day...} the woodsy smell and the cold tingling up my nostrils left me dreaming of proenza schouler fall 2010. so upon returning home (in the dark, darn day-light savings...) i immediately pulled up the luxurious pictures of the black leather and printed cerulean collection. how wintery are these pieces!?!
had to add the shoes (which are at the TIPPY TOP {under the a. wang bucket bag} of my xmas list!!) sheer genius!!! photos via style.com

backflash
'member these fabulous, fantastic, AMAZING shoes? thought ya did (here)! well they have been available for purchase for a whopping $1495 since early fall and to my dismay, any chance of slipping my size 6.5 feetsies into their wonderfulness has probably dissapeard. (perhaps ebay in a few seasons...) but if you are a size 9 or 10, and have $1500 to burn you HAVE to click here and buy them and cherish them forever. no, really. also send me pictures. thanksss. xx

falsies
i know they've been around for a while now buuuuuut remember when shu umera launched their tokyo lash bar and all of the sudden all the crazy lash jewelry seen on world class runways was available to buy and model whenever...well, i remember, but i also recollect that i was in middle school and they were SO not cool. since then, however, every time i go to buy lashes a part of me ONLY wants the biggest, sparkliest, most dramatic ones the store has to offer. sadly, i have never given in to this desire and so have spent the last 13 years of my life wearing boring black falsies. (maybe it's a halloween hangover but...) the next time i spot outragous eye gems i will buy them and i WILL wear them. (at least to snap a fewwww pics!)
how cool are these shots?! happy friday!! xx

HERMÉS
when i can't sleep at night i sit and click through style.com's runway photos on my phone - besides being relaxing (strange, i know) it has been a nice way to check out each house's spring/summer 2011 looks. last night i stumbled onto HERMES and was awestruck. i would like everything. delivered. tomorrow. loving the colors and the textures and HELLO! the bullfighting sort of bondage chic. gah.

skeletiniss
go go dancer costume - aa leggings - guess black pumps
another halloween has come and gone -- and i can say that this year was just as fabulous as the last four in santa barbara. i went over to my friend's house on the mesa and passed out candy to the millions of little minions that came by while sipping "skeletinis" and muching on boo chips and pumpkin cheese balls. altogether, fabulous!
how fantastically cute is this?!?!?!?! thanks Tastyland!!!! x
