here's a quick street style shot compliments of Kelsi from our LA adventure! it was fantastically hot and sunny and i managed to tromp around all day {7 hours...} in my 6 inch JC's. also the debut of this VENA CAVA for AQUA {bloomingdales} silk dress from fall 2010 - very comfy but just a littttttle too booby...like the print though. thoughts? happy friday!!

the winner of the CFDA/vogue fashion fund for 2010 will be announced on november 15th!  unless you have been living under a rock [...or just not as in love with pamela love, christian cota, and alturarra as i am...] you would know ever year the council of fashion designers of america  and vogue team up to aid an aspiring designer financially and to offer professional support to further the designer's vision.  winners of past CFDA/vogue ff include proenza schouler, alexander wang, and doo.ri.  runners up include vena cava, derek lam, rodarte, and 3.1 philip lim.  clearly, this award means A LOT.  this year there are 10 fabulous finalists - altuzarra, billy reid, christian cota, eddie borgo, gregory parkinson, loden dager, moss lipow, pamela love jewelry, prabal gurung and robert gellar.  the instant i heard the list i was all the way behind pamela love to take first place -- but now that i have watched all the vogue videos, (here), i am more obsessed with [almost] all of them than i could have ever imagined!!

spotlight on VC

VENA CAVA spring 2011 took off at NYFW and the looks are AMAZING. please sign me up, i'd like everything in the mail. now! designers Lis Mayock and Sophie Buhai created this look to mix the "1980's Memphis design movement with a Southern California ease" and it blossomed perfectly.  adorned with headbands, rope necklaces and strikingly tall platform sandals their vision was brought to life with bold colors and flowing fabrics! I LOVE!

BCBG MaxAzria - soft colors with delicate details! my brain is tingling!! this runway show actually took place yesterday at NYFW so here are some of my FAVORITE looks too!

BCBG MAXAZRIA wow-ed me! i love the NEUTRAL make up and low pony no-fuss hair! alsoooo i did notice the white/tan strappy sandals going on!!! LOVE.

Vena Cava - ah, what can i even say?! waiting for this collection like it's christmas eve!

VENA CAVA genius

so vena cava for aqua comes out today at bloomingdales! yesterday afternoon i was able to scoop a few of these AMAZING pieces up from the newly opened santa monica bloomingdales. (fyi, this bloomingdales is awesomeeee - there is also a brand new barney's co op and a fabulous nordstrom - so go. now.)


here are a few of the vena cava pieces - they also have a more military looking set of similar pieces that will go great for fall and are all priced wonderfully under about $200.
