LF-mania
it's clothing christmas!! the LF sale opens to the public tomorrow, AUGUST 12th!! if you are only going to hit up one or two end of summer sales this one is an absolute must. i made it out of the door clothed and ready to shop (before 9am) this morning for the private sale and let me just tell you it was better than christmas morning!!

tie dye is still in style in my book - check out the cotton maxi dresses that will be perfect for battling the september/october so. cal heat wave!
i'm currently madly collecting dream catchers. as soon as i find some free time i am going to do a diy. promise.
no, i could not resist this flirty number. i'll hand it to my mom for finding it in all the rumble!
I WANT MULTI-COLORED HAIR! but i am wayyyyy to commitment-phobic to actually do it. clip insssss here i come!

laurel, my newly 13 year old little sister, went to textile design camp in idyllwild (hence why i happened up there...) and she had a cumulative fashion show to show off all the things they made throughout the week!

winter#7
i need to put a disclaimer on this post - thus far in my blogging career i have yet to do an outfit post - which is something pretty standard for a fashion blogger to do - and i have to start this first one with some words about how awkward this whole process actually is.
generally - i love what i am wearing. i love everything down to the rings on my fingers - and my whole body is a collection of things that i think work wonderfully together - that being said - this is not the first set of "outfit post" pictures i have taken. i find that clothes, other than on models, look considerably better in motion - not staged and stiff.
anyway, these pictures were taken at a bed & breakfast in idyllwild, ca. this little town is a quaint mountain get-a-way (if you had a friend/boyfriend in tow) although fairly remote. there is no cell phone service (cringe) but bountiful internet sources. i think i am significantly more comfortable somewhere i can run to CVS and/or Starbucks at all hours of the night - but if you're into the wilderness - this is the place to be.

camel hide
i tend to put off reading magazines (besides the bible, vogue) until i am stranded at lax with 300 glossy pages in my lap. by no means do i avoid these haute picture novels, i just find that it is so easy to scroll through the internet to find exactly what i am looking for than to search through a mountain of pages. the time has come - however - i have finally subscribed to my faves (harper's bazaar, lucky, instyle, and elle) and from the moment they arrive at my door (4-6 weeks of course), i will become an avid magazine reader.
on my most recent trip to utah, i scooped up the august issues of a few publications (SO annoying that none of the september pages are out yet!) and i found an editorial or two that struck my fancyyy.
i was insanely thrilled when my suspicions about camel came true -- THIS GORGEOUS COLOR = SOPHISTICATION -- has taken the lead as the next season's must have! and to put a cherry on top, animal prints (read: leopard, cheetah) are back in in the perfect porportions! i have my eye on a fabulous ancient scarf in my mother's closet....but back to the editorials...
aline weber, brazilian model, lightens up the pages of the key pieces editorial in the august 2010 harper's bazaar. this editorial is by far my favorite one i drooled through - i cannot wait for fall and all the neutrals the winter months will welcome!
