NYE 2011

coat: Forever21 - dress: silence & noise (UO) - tank vest: Elizabeth & James - black tights - shoes: Forever21 - socks: LF - nails: OPI for sephora

i have come to regard NYE as a rather peaceful holiday after spending the last 3 years tucked in park city, utah.  even when brad and i went "downtown" - we mostly hung out together talking about the next year and how much we were going to ski the next day...but this year we skipped the bar scene and went to dinner with my family at a friend's house before watching the ball drop in our great room amid baileys and puzzles. i really enjoy the cozyness around the holidays and i think i have finally found the perfect way to ring in the new year with those that i care most about!! {besides the fact that i can completely avoid the inevitable hangover that follows a night of drinking...}

i came up with my new year's outfit on the fly after realizing that the temperature outside was not budging from -10 F. yeaaaaa...shocking to someone born and raised in southern california...haha but i ended up in a cozy dress comfy enough for lounging on the couch and styling 9 year old's hair. {also i found this PERFECT vintage inspired leopard coat from f21 recently and could not wait to wear it!!!}

hope everyone had an amazing night and is ready for a wonderful 2011!!! xx

the after party

as christmas is quickly approaching, i cannot help but be overwhelmed with NYE plans being tossed around on all of facebook - and once in a while i feel an urge to go party instead of what i will be doing...which, don't get me wrong, is totally fine, even pretty fun, but without a short short dress splattered with sequins and the taste of liquor on my breath the next morning - i never feel like ive done the new year justice.

anyway, i will be in park city, utah, tucked away in deer crest with my most loved family members {and a couple honorary ones too} and because of that, browsing through this LF after party lookbook just basically took my breath away.  these are the perfect pieces for that not-so-glitzy party {or AFTER the glitzy party} that are super comfy but still totally festive! also who wouldn't want to be in a bath full of balloons?!
