daisy chains

there is something so quintessentially innocent about wild daisies that makes me dream of lounging in a sprawling field of their perfect white pedals {i would most likely be in aniphalactic shock shorty thereafter so unfortunately, never going to happen...} but i just had to pick some growing out of control outside our front door in utah to make a floral headdress and then decided to crown my parent's dog, coco, queen of the daisies. i've been so inspired/overwhelmed lately {follow me here to keep up!} it's been tricky to get it all written down but will trickle out in the next couple of posts :) XX

NYE 2011

coat: Forever21 - dress: silence & noise (UO) - tank vest: Elizabeth & James - black tights - shoes: Forever21 - socks: LF - nails: OPI for sephora

i have come to regard NYE as a rather peaceful holiday after spending the last 3 years tucked in park city, utah.  even when brad and i went "downtown" - we mostly hung out together talking about the next year and how much we were going to ski the next day...but this year we skipped the bar scene and went to dinner with my family at a friend's house before watching the ball drop in our great room amid baileys and puzzles. i really enjoy the cozyness around the holidays and i think i have finally found the perfect way to ring in the new year with those that i care most about!! {besides the fact that i can completely avoid the inevitable hangover that follows a night of drinking...}

i came up with my new year's outfit on the fly after realizing that the temperature outside was not budging from -10 F. yeaaaaa...shocking to someone born and raised in southern california...haha but i ended up in a cozy dress comfy enough for lounging on the couch and styling 9 year old's hair. {also i found this PERFECT vintage inspired leopard coat from f21 recently and could not wait to wear it!!!}

hope everyone had an amazing night and is ready for a wonderful 2011!!! xx

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Hopefully the Easter Bunny was good to you! Mine hopped along with some Elizabeth and James blouses and of course See's scotchmallows!

Spring has sprung and with it came some peaceful pastels and enough floral prints to last until September! Here's a preview of my favs as of RIGHT now -- along with, of course,the newest Sam Edelman booties -- complete with rhinestones and studs...although I'm beginning to wane on the stud trend, a few here and there make an outfit totally memorable!

Another thing I am in love with RIGHT now is BANDAGE. Who would have thought a dress/skirt made entirely of ELASTIC would be so hot! These little numbers sinch and squeeze in all the right places making anyone so daring as to shimmy into them look fabulous!

I have decided that I may just pack up my bags and move to Utah for the winter. Park City is the ultimate place to play in the snow for a few months and it would give me a great time to work on my snowman building (I made my first one this Christmas with my wonderful
boyfriend Brad directing the effort) I even adorned him with my faux fur Russian-esque hat!

I was quite proud of him! I've also begun to see the enjoyment of skiing much more than I ever though possible! Other than the grapefruit-sized welts on my "shankles" (where my shin meets my ankle), I was totally comfortable and even hiked up to chute 10 with my mom, my friend Karyn and our instructor, Paul. Here's a shot of what it was like -- although the lip/steep downhill isn't so obvious in the picture!

The food in Park City is unbelievably good. Over spring break we hit up all our favorite spots. My brother, Max, came in on Friday and we went to Riverhorse to celebrate with my cousin and second cousin!

That's all for right now! Enjoy the sunshine!
