croc-odilly

jacket: LF dakota - sweater: james perse - tank: michael stars - jeans: paige - boots: YOU by CROCS {via CROCS, gifted} - necklaces: various

i was introduced to this brand new CROCS line {yes, like the rubber clog crocs...} called YOU by Crocs which are real shoes - and bare NO resemblance to their rubber relative!  i received these grey boots to try out -- and guess what?! they are great!!  i will be the first to admit that i was crazily skeptical until i slid my foot onto the amazing contoured foot bed and after that i actually ended up wearing them for a good 8 hours AND got a million compliments on!!  not too bad for only about $100 - especially if you are employed in a position that requires you to stand in nice looking shoes for long periods of time...check out these chikata boots and many more here!!

and i absolutely cannot forget to mention that MY FAVORITE JACKET EVER is still the DAKOTA from LF...ahh.  so in love!!

blackfriday

after a wonderful thanksgiving meal, i find relaxed shopping a great way to burn a few extra calories and get out of the {very crowded} house!  my mom and i ventured out downtown manhattan beach to hit up all of our favorite spots.  beehive to lulu's to wright's and free people -- now i am POOPED but i thought i would share my TURBAN get-up {see the glamourai's turban tutorial here}.

wangKO's

i have been drooling over alexander wang's black platform boots since as long as i can remember - and while i am still holding out for the real deal, once i was able to close my mouth i started a search for some knock offs. i totally HATE the idea of a knock off but hello, it makes no sense to spend $1,000 every time i fall in love with something :)

i still haven't found a perfect replica of the smooth platform lines that the real ones have but here are some of the two i have come across that may make the cut!

ALEXANDER WANG JACQUELYN BOOT $695

ALEXANDER WANG ANABELA BOOT $650

ALESHA LEATHER PLATFORM CHELSEA BOOT $117.95 asos

MINIMARKET JODPHUR WEDGE $325 urban outfitters

LEATHERETTE BOOTS $26.80 forever 21

booty time

i am very excited to announce that i wore boots all day today!  that, in my mind, makes it definitively fall.  it's even supposed to rain on wednesday!  ohh so happy!  along with my boots i pulled out a faux fur vest and because the sun was peeking through - i stuck with my tank-top so i was not a sweaty mess for my first TA session of the quarter.  here are some outfit pics!!

faux fur vest: F21 - grey tank: LF - black jeans: true religion (via mommy's closet) - brown boots: steve madden (these also sometimes look grey)

fall boot frenzy

as much as i love the sticky heat of summer, i cannot wait for the fall. i have so much anticipation that i have been boot shopping. yes, i will not be able to wear these babies for a few months but just knowing that they are in my closet waiting for me is reassuring.

these boots, maryn by steven for steve madden, are beautiful. they come in three colors - stone grey, cognac and black leather. my eyes went straight to the "grey" because in reality they are actually a shade of brown which will easily match with jeans, black pants and even a brown sweater.

i love the zipper detail in the back - it is a working zipper too so there are endless ways to wear them! also, it's not super apparent in the pictures - but the whole calf portion is folded over - an interesting design that makes these boots not only great for sipping some cocktails but also just lounging around on a rainy day!!

these torin booties by sam edelman are fabulous. i spent quite a long time just staring at these beauties and actually had a dream about them last night - they are PERFECT for the nighttime in southern cali! they are tall enough to distinguish from the booties from fall 2009, which were more ankle height.

gahhh wonderful and match EVERYTHING that is in my closet. im thinking even some black knit socks and skinny jeans?
